Doubtless it was shenanigans such as these that have led to the eminent closing of the Astor Place Barnes & Noble. For the new year, fellow bibliophiles, let's resolve not to defile our remaining bookstores in this way.

That's "imminent." "The imminent closing of the Astor Place etc." Or perhaps "the imminent closing of the eminent Astor Place Barnes & Noble."
