Good-bye Florent

Dont' forget to head over to Florent to experience the end of the only reason to go the meat packing district.  (Video: Gazelle, TIllly & Olan say Au Revoir)

End of an era.

Good riddance Florent. For nearly ten years I've tried to enjoy this place. It took a long time, and a lot of bad food for it to sink in because I like the idea of a local casual diner where you can relax and have a burger. About two years ago, it occurred to me that it just sucked… not always, but often enough that I’m happy to see it go. Yes, in spite of the hype suggesting that it is a landmark, it deserved to fail. In a city where top-notch foodservice is so important, the staff's shitty attitudes and the marginal hot-or-miss cuisine is precisely the kind of establishment that doesn't need to survive. I suggest that we really clean up the hood and get rid of Magnolia bakery next.
