Lets hope Mr. Bard is right about all of this...
I am keeping my fingers crossed...

I love you Stanley.

You are the soul of the hotel, and a great American.

What you created at the hotel is unequalled in the world.

Stanley Bard is a very wise man.

It's a shame that David and Michelle have been robbed of their birthright. They've invested a lot of hours, ahrd work and heart into the hotel.

God, bless Stanley Bard. Returning to Manhattan without Stanley at the desk to greet me is so very unthinkable. And who would I use to get subway directions from?

Stanley created something very special- he is like my friendly uncle in NY, a service BD can never replace. They will never know and love the Hotel like Stanley nor will they ever understand what it is that kept us Chelsea groupies coming back during the Bard years.

I seriously doubt that BD could give me the kind of 'discovering NY' advice that Stanley does. I'm sure they could direct me to an expensive restaurant but I can't imagine that they know the city or what guests like myself are looking for like Stanley does. Who else could have answered straight away what direction I needed to walk to find Warhol's Union Square studio? Who else cares enough about their guests to always make me feel *special* for being Australian? Stanley takes us seriously and can tell me new things about some of our greatest artists.

I shed a small tear for Stanley, nobody deserves to be treated like BD have treated him, but it's heartening to see that he's still in the ring, still standing and may yet see the defeat of the BD beast.

Amen to that Rob!

I love that pirate. I miss Stanley and I miss my home.
