Marlene's Shame

Be sure to check out Chris Shott’s piece in The New York Observer about BD’s shameful attempt to evict a dying man, Jann Paxton.  So what about it Marlene?  Is it so important to win your war against Stanley Bard that you’re willing to abandon ever last shred of common decency?  We think that, as a show of good will, you should at least pledge not to evict Jann Paxton. -- Ed Hamilton

Schott's beautiful story about Paxton is another damning indictment of how the new "management/minority shareholders" of the hotel have totally demeaned the Chelsea with their morally bankrupt business practices. While the hotel may only be a business to them, it is also home to many people. It seems as though they are hell-bent on transforming the Chelsea in an instution as shallow and spiritually spent as they are.

Is Jann certain he owes that much? He, like all other residents, are rent stabilized so perhaps this got overlooked if he did not claim it in a cross complaint. The hotel could owe Jann, not the other way around.

or one that wannabes can buy their way into so long as they've got seventy five grand

Jann should file an overcharge claim.

The filings against Jann,
WERE SIGNED BY MARLENE. Didn't she say she wanted a management that was friendlier towards the tenants.

Looks like she was telling BD what do and letting them take the blame.

Evicting a dying person cannot be good for your KARMA. Marlene, have a heart.

Right! Marlene told an editor at the NY Post that she "values" the residents and wants "less acrimony." So much for that.

Jann should file an immediate appeal of the Judgement against him and an emergency Stay of Eviction. There is a small fee -- we can pass the hat. Then he should back up his appeal with those documents proving he's rent stabilized. Elder and Krauss will be cutting HIM a check in the end

Marlene Krauss eats babies!
